HAMASSES

Faced with a voting choice between venally corrupt Fatah party, with its Islamic Jihadi fellows of its "militant" (ie congenitally violent and retarded) wing, and the filthily violent death obsessed Hamasses who do not have a "militant" wing, cos they are all insane in the membrane, and a choice of abstaining in large numbers to protest at the lousiness of the choices on offer, the Palestinians have exercised once again, their unerringly sense of crap, and they have elected Hamas.

Resoundingly.

Now, one might get the impression from the tone of the foregoing that I have little or no time for Palestinians.

One would be correct.

So, if you want to read people who care check this and this (keep scrolling cos this is Oxblog and the bloke is actually in the Palestinian territories talking to folks who matter).

Me, my take is simple. The first rocket launched into Israel will now officially be an act of war. Because the Palestinians actually resoundingly voted for the party that will not recognise Israel's right to even exist and instead bangs on and on about the "resistance" and blah blah blah, you know the self-pitying drill.

So the lobbing of the rockets will be "state-sanctioned". No more hiding behind "oooh, militants".

And that means Israel can retaliate thoroughly, without too much guilt. After all, you know how Hamasses are always banging on about no Israeli is innocent because they all go in the army and blah blah blah?

Yeah, well, 70% of voting Palestinians just voted for Hamasses, so the Israelis can reasonably point at them and say they are none of them innocent either.

If there is any light at the end of the tunnel, it is that Hamas might just have to recognise Israel's right to exist, which would be a substantive lurch into reason and thinking, if it wants to get any EU and US funding. And it will want to cos the whole place is apparently a filthy toilet of fake jobs in the public service, such as it is, so there is no actual economy to speak of.

I have always taken the view that the Palestinians could learn a lot from the Italians. Italy lost the Istrian peninsula to Yugoslavia after the WWII. The Italians from that part of the world still remember it as Italy, and it still looks like Italy too.

But there were no Italian refugee camps, set up afterwards. And the Italians who left did not slaughter any Croatian Olympians, nor have they clogged up the UN with interminable whining about past "injustice".

This Hamassy vote is great cos it was a vote, and peaceful on the day by Palestinian standards. But the outcome - she is disastrous, no?

But not for the West, as Paul McGeogh in the SMH would have us believe, with his relentless negativity about democracy in the ME. Ya gotta read his stuff. You can see him clearly. Lemonlipped and pointless in all his observations.

The vote is great, the outcome is shite, for Palestinians.

They are about to see their international support dry up as the true Hamassy representatives start doing what they do best - banging on about the Joooos, the Protocols of the Elders of Zion and demanding Israel disappear, sticking the headscarves on the girlies and giving the Christians a hard time.

Even the EU will get the shits with that.

Swear to God, the Palis should have abstained from voting.

Urgh. When, oh when, will a decent Palestinian stand up and unequivocally recognise Israel's right to exist, recognise the right of return is a fiction, and apologise to the world for the Munich Olympics, the Achille Lauro and every other disgrace acted out in the name of Palestinian "liberation" and fourth, and most important, pledge to Palestinians that they can enjoy a popular international reputation that is not based on victimhood, but on genuine liking and respect for their goods and services, and tourism etc.

I imagine there are folks like that in the Palestinian territories, and maybe even they stood for election. I hope lots. But I reckon they're quiet on account of all the Hamasses, cos goodness knows, Hamass loves to shoot folks for being "collaborators" with the eveil Zionist entity.

And Hamass is in power.

Urgh, again eh?

Out.

WHYYYY CAN'T I HAVE A UUUUUUNI DEGREE?

No link, I am afraid, but the Daily Tele on Saturday ran a letter that has left me gobsmacked at the sheer gaul of the bird who writes:

For 11 years I have been denied a university offer to study veterinary science and achieve my dreams.

Wha'? Denied an "offer". Offers are not compulsory. You have to make the grade to be in with a shot of getting an offer. You can only be denied if...

Oh dear.

Apparently I am not smart enough despite being a zoologist, a veterinary nurse, an animal research project manager, an animal welfare lecturer and gaining a 94.4 TER.

The entry to veterinary science is academic based and 98.45 UAIs are considered the best possible candidates.

Apparently you're not.

Atchally, wait just a minute, MistaLookSoGood. Zoology? What is that zoologists do a lot of? O ya, shovelling shit, and watching aminals rut. Noice skills for the vet stuff. Oh yeah. I would trust my pure bred labrador to her.

I mean, what a whiner.

Sit the exams you actually need to pass to get into vet school and this time, study hard and actually get the grades you need for your "dream". Sheesh-o.

I want a University entrance scheme based on commitment and dedication to the profession...

What chance is there for a little Aussie battler who just wants to be a vet?

Wha'? "I just want to be a vet?" Cayuhbuhleevi?

She has not made the grade, literally, and yet she has the stones to be able to demand an "offer" from a Uni to become a vet. A freakin' vet - the hardest gig in academic showbusiness? Harder to get into that med school and law school. Cos the patients don't talk. Vets makes more money than God, cos the Good Lord knows a person with a pet is a person wildly in love and prepared to pay anything for help. Never mind the vets of the horse racing industry, bull breeding etc. Money for jizz.

What faculty in their right mind would let her in with her attitude of "it's my god given right to be offered what I want on a plate even if I cannot actually get in the way everybody else in the course gets in"?

In fact, given her supernovasized ego it is a wonder she does not demand to be "offered" the position of Vet of the Frickin' Century, even without the degree.

Maybe I am being harsh. Maybe she has the skills necessary, what with her being an "animal welfare lecturer" and all...
...
[snigger].

Look, she has a dream and all that, Fine. She wants some credits for her actual work and her commitment. Not unreasonable. But not making the grade? Blaming the system? Come on.

See folks who think the world owes them what they want even when they do not fit the criteria of what is needed, and who demand that everything get lowered to let 'em reach even though it is them that's too short to get they wanna go should really Gi Fa.

This bird would be the exact sort to whine if she did not get actually hired as a vet, having finally done well enough to get into class.

What chance is there she will learnt o pull her head in and focus on achieving her goal without claiming it is the system that is failing her instead of her failing the system?

Zip, I reckon.

HE DOES NOT DO THIS NEARLY OFTEN ENOUGH

But when he does, it is so worth reading.

Natch, The Great Lileks has read the Fab Mark Steyn all about the decline of the West, or Europe really, cos they will not breed and they keep letting the Muslims in who do not assimilate, and the Euro's do not champion their cultures.

Steyn's pessimism is...well, I may be going out on an unorthodox wing here cos I totally love the guy mostly, but I reckon he is insulting to wogs.

And I reckon he is wrong.

Not to say youse should not read him in depth. I will quote just a bit:

That's what the war's about: our lack of civilizational confidence. As a famous Arnold Toynbee quote puts it: "Civilizations die from suicide, not murder"--as can be seen throughout much of "the Western world" right now. The progressive agenda--lavish social welfare, abortion, secularism, multiculturalism--is collectively the real suicide bomb. Take multiculturalism. The great thing about multiculturalism is that it doesn't involve knowing anything about other cultures--the capital of Bhutan, the principal exports of Malawi, who cares? All it requires is feeling good about other cultures. It's fundamentally a fraud, and I would argue was subliminally accepted on that basis. Most adherents to the idea that all cultures are equal don't want to live in anything but an advanced Western society. Multiculturalism means your kid has to learn some wretched native dirge for the school holiday concert instead of getting to sing "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" or that your holistic masseuse uses techniques developed from Native American spirituality, but not that you or anyone you care about should have to live in an African or Native American society. It's a quintessential piece of progressive humbug.

And:

The old definition of a nanosecond was the gap between the traffic light changing in New York and the first honk from a car behind. The new definition is the gap between a terrorist bombing and the press release from an Islamic lobby group warning of a backlash against Muslims. In most circumstances, it would be considered appallingly bad taste to deflect attention from an actual "hate crime" by scaremongering about a purely hypothetical one. Needless to say, there is no campaign of Islamophobic hate crimes. If anything, the West is awash in an epidemic of self-hate crimes. A commenter on Tim Blair's Web site in Australia summed it up in a note-perfect parody of a Guardian headline: "Muslim Community Leaders Warn of Backlash from Tomorrow Morning's Terrorist Attack." Those community leaders have the measure of us.

Steyn is saying, if I am reading it right - and I can read - that multiculti bullshit has led to folks all over the West including Europe losing their identity because they have bought the lie that all cultures are equal, and plus they are not breeding much and importing Muslims to fill the gap and the Muslims are troublemakers and the weak Westies are too gay to fight the Muslim troublemakers.

Note: Do not get upset with me, youse poof readers, about the "too gay to fight line". The window for us heteros to be able to use "gay" as a synonym for "weak girlie men" is pretty much closed since the "Let's Roll" gay boy on Flight 93, Mark Bingham, did his superbrave thing on Sept 11, 2001, and plus Ian Roberts rugby league career - in fact it is only still open a smidge at the minute just cos of the vision of Sir Elton John getting "married" the other day. So let a wog enjoy a moment of nostalgia for the olden days, ya know?

Anyhoo, I digress.

And Lileks is saying, if I am reading...what am I doin', Lileks always makes his points clear as day so there is never any confusion. So, he is saying there is a class of folks who look at the world and they always save their bile, their anger, their incandescent rage for things that will not hurt them, and never bother to focus on real threats, like craazy Muslim maniacs.

Right?

So we got a weak West that is too appeasey to Muslims and a bunch of folks who hate the West more than the mad Muslims who are causing all the trouble at the minute.

I am with Lileks. And I do get Steyn.

But the likelihood of wogs, and I will keep this real specific - Italians - actually losing their vanity, their ego, their God Given Greatness, if you will - yes you will, so long as you are on this site - just because of a bunch of immigration and some Muslimappeasing is slim to non-existent.

Nogonnappen.

Yah, fer sure, Italy is a monocultural society that has become a multiculti one much faster than Oz or the UK or US ever managed - it is all post war, Albanians, Bulgarians, and a bunch of Africans, for the most part, with a religious mix, and mostly encouraged by the Catholic Church which needs bums on seats as the bottom line.

And yah, fer sure, it as filled with muddle headed communists and socialists and idiot arts luvvies who do not actual produce anything other than damnable campaign slogans for unions and red political parties as well as muddle headed reds who make a motza actually making cars, and furniture but always bemoaning their life as ' piccoli borghesi' - I think you can work out that our, readers - while they do what they do in perpetuity making money all the way. And it has its anti-Jesus nuts too.

But it is not a lot different to other spots on the globe.

Oz has its fare share of fullfledged card carrying lunatics who I can hardly stand any more, the folks who call it the "so-called war on terror", wiggling their appeasing fingers. Frickin' spazzs. It is a war. It is on terror. You do not want in? Consider yourself a deserter - cos I certainly do.

But Holland had one of its not-even-well-loved-sons slaughtered by a Muslim maniac in the street - Theo Van Gogh, amemba? No? Google it, I cannot be asked - and Holland's response has been to crack down on this Muslimmaniacness. A lot.

There is your backbone right there. Tolerant as all get out up til there is a breach of the multiculti contract - by madmaniacMuslim violence - and then no more tolerance of it.

That there is your hope that things will not slide into nothing through this century for that country.

Oz had its horror at a distance in Bali - distance for those not there I mean. Our reaction? ASIO crawling all over madmaniacMuslims while we work at the same time to work with the Indonesian government to sort out the problem as much as we can.

Italy has a new Pope, Benedict, and he is on the telly every Sunday, and it has other religious icons like Monza, Maranello, Ferrari, the Pantheon, La Scala, Dante, Calvino, Casanova, wine, food, women, song, a shared loathing for the French and the Greeks....well, maybe that last thing is just me...o, not really alright. But you get the picture.

These are the things that unite countries. Borders, history, memory.

And should some maniac wearing a dishdasha screaming his lungs out to his god, not mine, do anything to upset it, like, say, attacking the Vatican, Italy and Italians, narcoleptic reds and all, will not be tolerating that.

Apart from any other analysis, that will be an intolerable breach of the multiculti contract - all cultures are equal until one of them decides to drop down a peg into craaziness.

Muslim culture, whether in Spain, France, UKside, Italy (not much) is not breaching the multiculti contract en masse. They do not seem able to clean house, of the craazies, I mean, shopping them to the coppers. Maybe they are doin' it, but on the quiet, ya know? Tryin'. If they are not cleaning house on the quiet or at all, then that, for folks like Steyn, and for Lileks too, and certainly for me, is a breach of the multiculti contract.

I think Steyn may be depressed by the Brit's reaction to the bombings of July 7 and July 21. And maybe the Spaniards too, but they had the whole ETA confusion going on.

And Steyn seems impatient for some collective loss of patience to occur with the maniacs.

It does seem as if nothing has changed UKside. We have the spectre - and it should be in caps, like a Bond movie - SPECTRE - of the Muslim Association of Britian again demonstrating its Jew hating credentials by refusing to participate in Holocaust Memorial Day....and still its leaders are not in the big house where they belong I say.

Sheesh. And they are meant to be mainstream normals.

I am impatient too.

But I ask you, even if, as Lileks contemplates, there was a pair of jeans out there with "Allah, Gi Fa" on 'em, who would have the balls to wear them in this day and age, when maniacMuslims can be found from London to Cronulla frickin' beach in Sydney?

No point us normals martyring ourselves before the maniacs.

Thing we all have to do, including the normal Muslims - hello? hello? are you there? ya havtagotta be there, yeah? please be there - is play the long and short game, and hunt the crazies down, tap into their phone calls, and mock the crap out of every person who denies their existence, apologies for them, appeases them, supports them etc etc and always always support the effort to rid the world of the madMuslimfundi-mentals cos they are the ones who resort to violence first.

Everyone else is just preaching. No biggie.

Long game.

Bin thinking about this long game stuff after reading an interesting interview Hugh Hewitt did recently with a Roman Catholic priest. Boiled down, is there a way to remove the fundi-mentals from the Muslim brethren? Maybe. Maybe not.

My money's on maybe and fer sure.

Why?

Cos anyone who has ever seen the Cronulla carsmashing Muslim Leb rampage and had dinner a week later from a excellent Muslim Leb restaurant knows that the madness is not across the board for every single Muslim.

The madness is just in the mad ones. Yah, there is a lot of 'em, but not an infinite number. Steyn's analysis points to an infinity of trouble. I cannot see it. I think things will be better and Italy will be just where she is today.

Centre. of. The. Universe.

My own personal yardstick for when things may be better is definitely in this century, which Steyn is so down on, and it is simply this: lunch with wine, lotsa wine, on the Tigris in Baghdad at a joint that is named in a travelguide. A quick flight over Iranian airspace, no problems, and dinner in Kabul.

Anyhoo, what a ramble eh? Should keep youse offa my back til later in the week.

Out.

WHAT, THERE'S MORE?

Season 2 of Carnevale is on and it is making no more sense than season 1, except it is, natch, just a little more of a slag of America than the first. We got the dwarf telling us about how the evil one is Stateside and then the freak in the box who runs the whole shebang tells the freaky Bad-Jebus-kinda boy that, get this:

"If you turn your back on your destiny mankind will be delivered into a terrribble fate"

or some such, something to do with nucular weapons, which did not exist in 1920's Depression Era America.

....

Urgh, who the hell knows what all this is about? The Prophet? The Usher? You bleed like a man? you have to kill him with your own hands, the Prophet, Henry Scudder?

Alls I know it is Bibleloathing and it is boring when the chubby blonde carne- stripper does not get her norks out.

Shame to see so many really good actors go to waste on this. That is the reason to watch - see some good folks in action.

WARRANTLESS SEARCHES HAVE A HARDER TIME WHEN THE WARRANT IS...NOWHERE, AND NEW YEAR'S WISHES

I am in Oz. It is the first Monday in the newest year 2006. I could care less about the kerfuffle in the US with the New York Times and its transparent attempt to characterise the US government's National Security A...somethingorother warrantless searches of phonecalls and email etc by terror suspects into the US ever since 11 September 2001, as "domestic spying".

Ya, domestic spying...as in spying on domestic terror suspects.

Who in their right mind has a problem with that?

Anyhoo, suffering from a full on 24 hour wog - no joke - I cannot be sure if I heard this right or if I was in a chuckin' delirium, but get this: I think it was US ABC news, and the presenter introduces the first story and he goes:

Tonight on ABC news, the NSA domestic spying scandal deepens further to trouble the Bush government. Reports have surfaced that children have been targetted by the NSA...

....

Huh?

...

Pshha, ha, ha, hah...ahhh. Children.

Is there any other avenue for leftie scum to take to beat this thing up further?

Children, puhlease.

...

Terrorist children.

Whatever. Felice Anno Nouvo a tutti. All good things for 2006.
